Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

QuantVista is a fully static, client-side research platform. This policy explains in plain language what information this site does and does not handle, where every byte is stored, and the rights you have over it. The short version: we have no user accounts, no server-side database, no analytics and no advertising — everything you save stays in your own browser. Unlike most financial research websites, where trackers, consent banners and measurement scripts are the norm, this site deploys none of them.

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to the QuantVista website and all of its pages and tools, in every language version, when you visit it in a browser. The site is delivered as static files from a content delivery network (CDN); the CDN provider (for example Cloudflare Pages or your chosen host) processes standard technical request logs such as IP address and request time under its own privacy policy, which is separate from this one. If you follow a link to an external website, that website's policy applies instead of ours.

2. Information We Collect

Accounts: none. QuantVista has no registration, no login, no user profiles and no email collection. You never provide an email address, name or payment details to this site.

Automatic collection: none that we control. The site runs no analytics, no tracking pixels, no session recorders, no advertising networks and no third-party scripts that profile you. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.

What does exist is entirely on your own device: the preferences and data you create while using the tools — watchlists, alerts, saved presets and models, chart drawings — are stored in your browser's local storage and are never uploaded anywhere. There is no server to upload them to.

3. How We Use Information

Locally stored data is used only to make the tools work for you: remembering your watchlist, sounding the alerts you configured, restoring your saved backtest presets and chart templates, and keeping the interface in your chosen language. It is not used for profiling or targeting, and never for any purpose other than the feature that created it.

We do not sell, rent, trade or share any information — we hold nothing that could be sold. There is nothing to opt out of, because no personal information ever leaves your browser.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The site stores a small number of first-party, functional items on your device: a NEXT_LOCALE cookie and a sidebar-state cookie that remember your language and layout preferences, and local storage entries under the qv-* namespace (for example qv-watchlists-v1, qv-alerts, qv-screener-presets-v1, qv-strategy-book, qv-chart-drawings, qv-chart-templates and qv-custom-series) that hold the data of the corresponding tools.

None of these are used for profiling, and they contain no identifiers that could follow you across websites.

You can inspect and delete them at any time via your browser's site settings — "clear site data" removes everything at once. Deleting them does not break the site; you simply start with a clean workspace.

Do Not Track: this site deploys no tracking technologies of any kind, so the goals of the DNT browser signal are met by design — there is nothing tracking you and nothing to opt out of, regardless of whether your browser sends the signal.

Managing cookies and site data: because everything is stored locally, your browser's site-data settings give you complete control. "Clear site data" in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari removes all cookies and local storage at once, and each browser also allows per-site blocking and deletion. Clearing them only resets your preferences (language, layout, watchlists, saved presets and drawings) — nothing else changes, and no copy of that data survives anywhere else.

5. Third-Party Market Data Requests

Some panels — live quotes, crypto prices, exchange rates and price charts — try to fetch public market data. When the site's own data proxy is unavailable, your browser may contact public market-data services directly, such as Binance (crypto prices), Frankfurter (exchange rates) or Stooq (end-of-day quotes), possibly via a public CORS relay. These requests contain only public market-data queries such as symbols and date ranges; they never contain any of your saved data.

As with visiting any website, the operators of those services see the requests your browser makes, including your IP address, under their own privacy policies. If you prefer no third-party requests at all, every tool also works on the built-in deterministic research dataset, and the panels fall back to it automatically when a request fails.

All research datasets on this site — the classic factor libraries, anomaly series, regional and industry data, asset classes, and the 271 FactorsToday pure-factor series (macro, styles, sectors, industries, countries and AI-discovered themes) — are baked into the site as static files. Browsing them never triggers a request to any third party; no relay or proxy API is involved anywhere in the research data layer.

6. No Tracking, No Advertising, No Analytics

QuantVista embeds no analytics tools, no advertising networks, no social-media widgets, no fingerprinting and no cross-site identifiers. The site deliberately avoids the tracker-heavy approach common on financial websites. There are no "share" buttons that leak your visit to third parties.

Advertising readiness disclosure: this site currently serves no advertising and loads no ad or measurement scripts of any kind. Disabled placeholder positions for ads exist in the code as future infrastructure, but they render nothing and fetch nothing. If advertising is ever activated, it will not happen before (1) this policy is updated to describe the categories of cookies and partners involved, and (2) a consent banner compliant with GDPR and CCPA requirements is shown to visitors in the affected regions. Until that day, zero third-party scripts of advertising origin are loaded.

7. Data Security and Retention

Because your data never leaves your device, the main security boundary is your own browser profile. Data persists until you clear it; there is no server-side retention on our side at all. Static hosting keeps the attack surface minimal: no database, no login system and no server-side code execution for visitors.

No internet transmission can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure, and we cannot warrant the security of the transport layer itself; static delivery simply keeps what is exposed to a minimum. If this site ever undergoes a merger, acquisition or asset transfer, the very limited data described in this policy would transfer with the site, and a notice would be published on this page beforehand.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR (EU/EEA), CCPA/CPRA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), LGPD (Brazil), POPIA (South Africa), PIPL (China) and similar laws, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction and objection regarding your personal data.

Because QuantVista stores nothing on any server, you can exercise every one of these rights directly and instantly, with no request and no waiting period: all data lives in your browser, and your browser's "clear site data" function is the complete and final deletion mechanism.

No data subject requests need to be sent to us, because we hold no data to access, export or delete. This is architectural data minimization — the strongest privacy posture a website can offer.

Legal Frameworks in Detail

GDPR (EU/EEA)

Under the GDPR, the only personal data involved in running this site is the technical request logging performed by the hosting/CDN layer described in Section 1, processed on the legal basis of legitimate interest — delivering the pages you request. Your rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection are satisfied automatically and instantly: we hold no data about you, there is nothing to access, export, correct or delete on our side, and your browser's clear-site-data function is the complete erasure mechanism. If you contact us by email, that correspondence is processed by the email provider under its own policy, solely in order to answer you.

CCPA/CPRA (California)

Under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing". This site does not sell, share or disclose personal information for any purpose — there is no sale to opt out of. Market data, quotes and factor values displayed by the site are not personal information as defined by the CCPA. Because nothing identifying you is collected, every statutory right is already fulfilled at the moment of your visit; no request, identity verification or waiting period is necessary.

Other Jurisdictions

The UK GDPR and the Swiss FADP are approached identically to the EU GDPR described above. PIPEDA (Canada), LGPD (Brazil), POPIA (South Africa) and PIPL (China) rights are likewise satisfied by the site's architecture, since no personal information leaves your browser. Where local law requires a named contact for privacy matters, the contact channel in Section 14 serves that purpose.

9. Children's Privacy

The site is a professional research tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA, US) or under 16 in the EEA and the UK (GDPR digital-consent age). Since no personal information is collected from any visitor of any age, no age-verification mechanism exists or is needed.

10. External Links

The platform references and links to external websites — data providers, regulators, exchanges and research sites — for context. Those sites have their own, usually far more extensive, privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them. We recommend reading their policies separately.

11. Changes to This Policy

If the site gains server-side features in the future — for example accounts, cloud-saved portfolios or an API — we will update this policy, describe any new data flows clearly, and bump the "last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Update notifications: because the site has no accounts or mailing lists, changes are announced here rather than by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version; material changes are highlighted with a notice at the top of this page for at least 30 days; and each update ships with a short summary of what changed. Previous versions are archived and available on request through the contact channel below.

12. Payments and Future Services

This site is currently free, has no paid features and collects no payment information of any kind — no card numbers, billing addresses or transaction records exist anywhere in its architecture.

If paid subscriptions are ever introduced, payments will be handled by a licensed third-party payment provider; this site will not store full card numbers, and the provider's own privacy policy will be linked here before any payment feature goes live.

13. International Data Transfers

This site is distributed as static files from CDN and hosting nodes that may be located in several countries; a visitor's request may be served by a node outside their own country. This is ordinary content delivery — no personal data is disclosed to any third party, and nothing that identifies you is transmitted beyond the technical request described in Section 1.

Should cross-border processing of personal data ever become relevant — for example through a future contact-form or newsletter service — it will be governed by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent recognized transfer mechanism, and this policy will be updated before that happens.

14. Contact

QuantVista is an independent research and education project. Questions about this policy can be raised via the project's public repository or the contact channel listed in the site footer.

Because the site collects nothing, there are no data-request mailboxes to maintain — but every question about our privacy practices is read and answered.
